You can do both through conversational hypnosis. Whereas normal hypnosis requires a cooperative subject that wants to be hypnotized and is willing to relax their conscious mind so you, the hypnotist, can speak to and influence their subconscious mind, conversational hypnosis is different.

Conversational hypnosis can be used on just about anyone whether they are cooperating with you or not. Using subtle techniques, you can quickly “read” how your subject thinks, instantly build rapport, make them like you, and even do what you command directly with the subject’s subconscious even while you carry on a conversation with their fully awake conscious mind.

“Impossible!” you say? On the contrary, these techniques are used by lots of people in business, sales, TV marketing, and especially car salesman. Have you ever visited a car dealer and no matter how hard you try to remain impartial, the salesman still makes you like and trust him (at least to a degree)?

He is using conversational hypnosis techniques on you. He may not know it by that name, but he is doing it.

If you seriously want to learn how to hypnotise someone, you should further investigate conversational hypnosis. The same principles apply as with normal hypnosis, but the techniques and the results are different.
