How Conversational Hypnosis Can Save Your Life

Veronica was nervous with excitement; her new boyfriend was picking her up in just 15 minutes to take her to the plush, new seafood restaurant overlooking the Inner Harbor for a romantic candlelight dinner to celebrate their first month together. She had not felt this way since High School. He was strong and ruggedly handsome with blue eyes that pierced right through to her soul, and though Veronica had only been out with him a few times, he had a knack for exciting, exotic dates. He was always well-groomed, and always dressed sharply in black.

Their first date was to see West Side Story at the dinner theater down on 3rd Avenue. Then there was the picnic and the outdoor concert on the grass; James Taylor on a warm, breezy summer evening was so relaxing. He never gave her his phone number, but he called her almost every other night anyway. He was so exciting and mysterious. He did not say much, but he always asked about her thoughts and interests, and he listened for hours.

Oh, there goes the doorbell; it’s finally time! He brought Veronica a sweetly-scented bouquet of white roses. He seemed a little different tonight; a bit distant. It must have been a tough day at work, she thought. I wonder what he does for a living anyway. Oh, who cares; he drives a black Porsche, with supple, black leather driving gloves, and he is so suave. And he always showered her with the best of everything.

On the way, to the restaurant, she noticed the loud rushing wind from the open moonroof. Why is he so quiet tonight, she wondered. Ah, there’s the restaurant with the bright city lights reflecting on the water.

As they were about to turn into the parking lot, a black Cadillac with darkly tinted windows came out of nowhere nearly hitting them and slinging gravel all over the driver side of the sleek racing machine. Mr. Dreamy’s eyes flared open, and then they narrowed with rage as he yelled obscenities and hit the gas, fish-tailing the car away from the restaurant.

Veronica, now terrified, screamed as the car zipped sharply around all the other cars and curves, and her boyfriend transformed into a completely different person than the one she knew and romanticized. It was like he completely forgot she was in the car. She yelled for him to stop as she grabbed his arm in fear and desperation.

“Shut up!” he yelled as he jerked his arm back from her grasp. “I thought I already took care of these guys,” he growled as he whipped the car around the curve and hit the gas again.

Veronica sat silent, frozen with fear, as he sped out of the city onto a long, dark stretch surrounded by tall trees slightly silhouetted in the moonlight. She could feel her heart pounding like it wanted to jump out of her chest and hide in the dark forest …

She began to regain her composure as she tried to relax and think. Vaguely remembering her conversational hypnosis training, she decided to give it a try, and she timidly broke the deafening silence and said, “Let me ask you a question. You have me out in the middle of nowhere. Do you really need me here?”

“What do you expect me to do, let you out here?” he snapped.

Veronica gasped with a shocked look on her face. She didn’t expect him to respond so directly to her subtle command. But that was exactly what she wanted.

Gently she asked, “Do you really want me in the car when you catch these guys?”

For a brief moment, he had that surprised look you get right after reality smacks you in the face as he realized what he would have to do … if she saw what he wanted to do when he caught up with these guys.

“I have my cell phone …,” she added.

Once again, he glared like a lion on the prowl.

“If you let me out here, I can call for help, and you can go on without me,” Veronica stated as calmly as she could … this time bluntly repeating her hidden conversational hypnosis command.

“I can’t stop to let you out; I’ll never catch these guys,” he bellowed as if he didn’t even realize he was slowing down to a full stop.

Veronica flew open the door and nearly leaped out of the car even before it completely stopped rolling. She slammed the door shut, and there was a piercing screech of the tires as he immediately floored the gas pedal.

Her ex-boyfriend received her subtle command and acted on it even as he was arguing with himself about it … as if he really had no choice. Did he stop because of her subtle command or because it simply made sense to prevent an unwanted witness? Did she just save her on life? Or was she just lucky?

Veronica, didn’t care; she was just glad she had taken that course in conversational hypnosis and said something.

So, what about your brand new Mr. or Ms. Right? What do you really know about him (or her) and his past? Do you know where he works, what he does outside of work, or even where he lives? Have you met his friends and associates? Have you met his family? Do you know what he used to do before he got his current job? Have you ever seen him when he is angry?

What would you do in a similar situation? Do you know how to secretly command people to eagerly, uncontrollably do what you want? Or are they doing it to you …?
