Fundamentals
The information
provided in chapter one introduced you to three powerful automatic
invest-ment techniques and briefly stated how to perform each technique.
However, the information present-ed in chapter one does not go far
enough. The remainder of this book fills in all the details you need to
make informed decisions on which tech-nique to use when and how to
implement each technique in the real world. The rest of the book is
divided into three sections and the appendices. Section one provides
detailed discussion of all three automatic investment techniques.
Section two pre-sents the conclusions of extensive research and presents
a clear, concise step-by-step plan on how to implement dollar value
averaging and optimize its performance in the presence of real-world
con-straints. Section two also presents several example portfolios and
illustrates the performance using historical market data. Section two
concludes by illustrating how you can combine two of the tech-niques for
truly phenomenal performance. Section three presents guidelines to
optimize your lifetime finances to prepare for retirement; section three
also shows you how to maximize your wealth accumulation and income after
retirement. Finally, the appendices include an assortment of interesting
topics including how the conclusions presented in this book were
determined, references and recom-mendations for further reading, a
glossary, copies of the worksheets, and some special offers.
